Dr Mohammad Abuabiah recently attended the Laser in Manufacturing (LiM) Conference held in Munich from June 26th to 29th, 2023. Dr Abuabiah participated in a conference paper titled “Influence on the Bead Geometry in Laser Metal Deposition with Wire,” which was the result of a collaborative effort between the University of Luxembourg, Fraunhofer IPT, and An-Najah National University.
The conference paper delved into the effects of various parameters on the geometry of the bead formed during laser metal deposition. This research aimed to improve the understanding of the process and optimize its outcomes. The paper was authored by Tizia Charlotte Weidemann, Mohammad Abuabiah, Bahaa Shaqour, Robin Day, Thomas Bergs, and Peter Plapper.
In addition to his participation at the LiM Conference, Dr Abuabiah also attended the Conference Automatica 2023, a leading exhibition for smart automation and robotics. Automatica 2023 served as a platform for experts to share knowledge, showcase cutting-edge technologies, and discuss the latest advancements in the field. Dr Abuabiah’s attendance at this event further demonstrates his commitment to staying at the forefront of research in automation and robotics.
This research as well as the conference attendance, were made possible through the support of the Horizon Europe – MSCA-PF grant under the BALSAM project.
